HOME-Pasadena Fire Fighters’ Association Benefit Trust

What is the Benefit Trust? The Pasadena Fire Fighters Association Local 809 established the Pasadena Fire Fighters’ Association Benefit Trust (the “Trust”) to provide assistance with health insurance costs during your retirement.

The Trust is funded by contributions negotiated by your Association. The Trust is administered (with the help of a contract administrative agent) by a Board of Trustees, who are fellow fire fighters, elected by the membership or appointed by the Board of Directors of Local 809. This Trust is highly tax-favored. Your contributions are made with pre-tax dollars; earnings are not taxable; and when you begin receiving benefits in the future, they will not be taxed (unlike pension payments, which are taxed).

The Board of Trustees is committed to the successful operation of this Trust, in hopes of helping fire fighters and their families lessen the burden of retiree health insurance costs.
